Many Discover Credit Cards allow you to get cash back on your purchases. The rules on each individual card vary, but in general there are some rules that most of the Discover cash back cards follow.
Firstly you can get your cash back in many forms. you can get it as an account credit, a deposit to your bank account, or you can get a check sent to you, which you can cash.
A second point is that you can double your cashback amount by getting your cash in the form of a gift card from a Discover partner, which include Chili's, Kohl's Borders, Bed Bath and Beyonds, AMC, The Sharper Image, Applebee's, and many many more.
Thirdly, not all spending is created equal. The standard cash back rate is 1%, but you can get 5% cash back by spending at home improvement stores, department stores, gas stations, restaurants, pet stores, and more.
Fourthly, you're not allowed to get your cash back if you have not paid at least your minimum monthly payment. So make sure you pay on time if you want to get your money.
Your cash back bonus never expires with Discover, however, if you don't use your card for 18 months or more, your cash back points will disappear.
If your Discover Card is stolen, your cash back points will remain intact. You will be given a new card and your cash back rewards will be transferred to your new card.
You can find your cash back totals either on your monthly Discover card statement, or online in your Discover account center.
Finally, cash back rewards are not limited to residents of the United States. Any Discover Card Member is entitled to earn cash back rewards.
